I was originally searching for a breathwork certification. I had a deep longing to understand the breath—not just as a tool, but as the sacred rhythm of life itself. I explored different programs, teachers, and trainings… but nothing felt right. I kept asking the Universe, “Where is my teacher? Where is the path?”
After months of searching, I stumbled across Pause Breathwork. It was already mid-cohort, so I figured I’d have to wait. But that’s when the founder, Samantha Skelly, hosted a week-long Somatic Coaching masterclass—and everything shifted.
I didn’t even know what Somatic Coaching was at the time, but something inside of me said, “Stay. Watch. Listen.”
By the end of that week, I was in tears. The resonance in my soul was undeniable. I told God, “If I’m meant to do this, show me the money.”
And wouldn’t you know… I WON a $2,000 scholarship toward the program.
The message was clear: This is the path. This is the medicine.And so, I said yes.
What is Somatic Coaching, Really?

I Had Already Been Doing This Without Knowing
What blew my mind during training was that I had already been practicing many somatic techniques in my daily life—I just didn’t have the language for it.
Whenever I felt pain or discomfort, I would place my hands over that space, breathe into it, and just be with it.
I thought that was just my way of coping. I didn’t realize it was actually a foundational somatic principle: bringing awareness and breath into the body without resistance.
The truth is, so many of us are already doing somatic work on some level—we just haven’t been taught to trust it.
